Hewwo, im realivily new to gw guru so i aint entirely sure how to put my build on here with pictures but i'll still put the name of the skill and description, basically what im asking is could you help me improve it in general, and wut weapons/armour + runes, insignias etc that would fit it best atm. Please focus on weps under 10plat please.
the build is listed below, thanks in advance =]
- Live Vicariously:
Description: While you maintain this enchantment, whenever target ally hits a foe, you gain 2...14 Health.
- Vigorous Spirit:
Description: For 30 seconds, each time target ally attacks or casts a spell, that ally is healed for 5...17 Health.
- Barrage:
Description: All your preparations are removed. Shoot arrows at target foe and up to 6 foes adjacent to your target. These arrows strike for +5...17 damage if they hit.
- Throw Dirt:
Description: Target touched foe and foes adjacent to your target become Blinded for 3...13 seconds.
- Lightning Reflexes:
Description: For 5...10 seconds, you have a 75% chance to block melee and projectile attacks, and you attack 33% faster.
- Dryder's Defense:
Description: For 5...10 seconds, you gain 75% chance to block attacks and 34...55 armor against elemental damage.
- Whirling Defense:
Description: For 8...18 seconds, you have 75% chance to block attacks. Whenever you block a projectile in this way, adjacent foes take 5...10 damage.
- Storm Chaser:
Description: For 8...18 seconds you move 25% faster, and you gain 1...4 Energy whenever you take elemental damage.

you WON'T need 3 blocking skills - [lightning reflexes] is enough (very nice skill keep it in there)
[live vicariously](bad skill IMO) and [vigorous spirit](if you want this put it on a monk hero :P) - much better 2nd profs for ranger... advice if you want to play barrage ranger go /rt and put in [death pact signet] as a hard rez...
[throw dirt]....if you play into HM you aen't gonna want to keep leroy up to the frontline to blind a single foe
for a build run something similar to...[lightning reflexes][barrage][savage shot][volley]["i am the strongest!"][pain inverter][death pact signet][splinter weapon]
with atts. roughly: marksmanship 13 / expertise 11 / channeling 9 / restoration 1 - with runes on marksmanship and expertise...
wep...just take anything that is req9 15^50 20/20 and +30...
you can get them for ~2k
anything else you need to know I spec in rangers so hit me up IG and can give you some additional advice

Leaving healing to the Monks. If you want a self heal, use [troll unguent]. 3 stances is far too many, you have no damage or utility. [distracting shot] should be on every Ranger build using a bow. If using Barrage, consider a secondary and skills to make use of the damage capabilities. If you want to stay Monk, consider tossing points into Smiting Prayers for [judge's insight]. However, as noted, Ritualist and [splinter weapon] is a great option, and Elementalist and [conjure flame][conjure lightning][conjure frost] work well too. Typically you would want to run 10 points into the attribute for the damage boost skill, but can get by with 8 or 9 if you want. Worry less about self preservation, and more about damage and/or utility.

Alright, lets contemplate upon your current build.
As a Ranger, [[Live Vicariously] is not of much use to you. It is better carried by a Monk, as should [[Vigorous Spirit]. That brings me to my next point. [[Vigorous Spirit] is not that great as I assume you're playing PvE, where you have heroes and henchmen to keep you alive. The only real self-heal on a ranger bar should be [[Troll Unguent] or [[Mending Touch] (which requires a condition).
Your choice of an Elite skill was done well as [[Barrage] is the essence of PvE for a Ranger.
However, it seems to me as if you've become paranoid over survivability. Rangers are excellent survivors as they have a lot of useful stances and speed boosts to evade danger. Even so, four stances of blocking is not something you really want as it really kills off the amount of utility you can drag along. As a result, your skills for blocking should really be squared down to [[Lightning Reflexes] or [[Natural Stride].
Keep in mind that Rangers have a very rigid optimal build in PvE and PvP (excluding Zaishen challenges). Therefore, you should go over some Ranger builds on PvXWiki to get an understanding of what it should look like.
I would take note of the above suggestions as they are pretty good builds.
All in all, Rangers are an extremely durable class and are very fun to play. Keep your choices open and try new builds; it will help expand your skill as a Ranger. Good luck and have fun. (;

Barrage is a good skill, but I play with
[kindle arrows][conjure flame][triple shot][dual shot] You can get some insane spike damages with those. The downside is no AoE. I can also help.

It still sucks though.

1. Live vicariously is terribad
2. Vigorous spirit doesn't need to be in this build
3. Limit to one or two stances at most
4. Interrupts. Use them.
